Liz started her career as a Music Researcher and Associate Producer for a number of UK based TV companies. Given her proximity to the worlds of Film, TV and Music, she fell into the role of Music Supervisor and following her first film, The Full Monty, quickly established herself as one of the most creatively diverse music supervisors in film and television.

In her more than 20-year career, she’s supervised over 150 projects, spanning indie, studio and documentary films, as well as a variety of TV series.

Liz's film credits include the Oscar Award winning documentaries One Day in September and The Cove, and feature films such as Layer Cake, 24 Hour Party People, Resident Evil, Calendar Girls, Bend It Like Beckham, Fish Tank, The Guard and the Documentary Studio 54 for which she won an award from the Guild of Music Supervisors for Best Music Supervision in a Documentary.

Her TV credits include, Masters of Sex, Patrick Melrose, the third and final season of the Netflix series Dark, as well as the Showtime documentary film Belushi, about the legendary comedian. She also recently finished work on the critically acclaimed BBC series, The Serpent, a BBC/Netflix co-production.

Kathleen earned her B.S. in Music Industry at the University of Southern California. Throughout her time at USC, she took advantage of many classes and opportunities, which ultimately led to her interest in music supervision.

She’s navigated her way through the world of supervision with time at Universal Music Group in their Film and TV Music Marketing department, followed by her time at Creative Control – an independent Music Supervision company headed by Joel C. High. She then traveled to UK and worked at Cutting Edge Group in their London office (which is where she met Liz) and returned (reluctantly) to her homeland to help the company set up their LA office. Liz and Kathleen left Cutting Edge in 2010 to set up Velvet Ears.

Kathleen has worked on over 55 projects including the Oscar winning Documentary The Cove, Elysium, and The Guard, and she recently Music Supervised the Netflix documentary film, Stutz.

Kathleen works alongside Liz at Velvet Ears handling music supervision, clearances, licensing and many other aspects of the growing Velvet Ears Music Library business.
